Bryce Eldridge is ready.

The No. 1 prospect in the San Francisco Giants' organization is slugging at Triple-A. It's not clear when a call-up might be coming, but when the phone rings, Eldridge will be good to go.

The big lefty has crushed four home runs in his last three games for the Sacramento River Cats.

He's got power to all fields, too, as displayed on this bomb from Tuesday night:

Before the season, Baseball America ranked Eldridge the No. 12 prospect in all of baseball. Baseball Prospectus had him No. 15. MLB Pipeline put him at No. 24.

Clearly, Eldridge was already viewed as a can't-miss prospect.

He began the season with 34 games at Double-A Richmond and slugged seven home runs before his move up the ladder.

Now at Triple-A, Eldridge has 11 homers in 32 games. He's batting .264 and has put up a potent .899 OPS.

He strikes out a bit more than once per game, which maybe isn't perfect but is also relatively par for the course for power hitters in the modern game.

Eldridge has only played first base in his time at Double-A and Triple-A after brief forays into right field early in his minor league career. So if the Giants want to bring him up, it'd likely result in him playing first while Rafael Devers is the DH, or vice versa.

But this is about the bat.

Eldridge hasn't even been at Triple-A for two months, and he has already run out of things to prove.

If the Giants are serious about competing down the stretch, Eldridge is a player who can help them do that.

If they decide not to take the chance on him now, Eldridge will show up at spring training next year ready to take San Francisco by storm. He'll certainly blast a few baseballs into McCovey Cove before all is said and done.
