Aliyah Boston turned in another strong performance on Sunday to help lead the Indiana Fever to their fifth straight win. This came at the expense of the Seattle Storm, who failed to defend their home court against a surging Indiana side.
Boston dropped a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double on 7-of-11 shooting, to go along with two assists, three steals and a block in 31 minutes of action. Thanks in large part to the three-time All-Star’s strong play, the Fever were able to escape Climate Pledge Arena with a 78-74 win.
Aliyah Boston Makes Fever Franchise History
Boston’s big-time performance led to the 2023 Rookie of the Year rewriting the Fever franchise history twice in the same game.
First off, Boston climbed the leaderboards in all-time rebounds. With her 924th career board, Boston surpassed two-time All-Star center Tammy Sutton-Brown for the No. 4 spot in the Fever record books.
Later in the game, Boston marked her sixth straight double-double, which allowed her to set a new franchise mark, overtaking none other than her current Indiana teammate, Caitlin Clark.
Talk about a big night for the 23-year-old.
Boston Reacts to Historic Performance
Boston is not the type to toot her own horn, which is why it comes as no surprise that she had the perfect reaction to her historic outing.
Boston had to flex her major milestones, but she did so without saying a word. She shared the Fever’s announcement about her rebounding feat without adding any caption. Boston also shared teammate Natasha Howard’s post, dubbing her the “double double queen,” adding just two heart emojis as her caption.

Boston would rather let her game do the talking. After all, the fact that she rewrote the record books twice on the same night says it all.
Fever Keep It Rolling
That’s now five straight wins for the Fever, who have, without a doubt, been playing impressively amid the injury absence of Clark.
The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year sat out her seventh straight game on Sunday due to a lingering groin injury, but Indiana has done admirably in holding down the fort during her extended spell on the sidelines.
The Fever have now improved to 5-2 without Clark in the latest spell, and 17-12 overall. They climbed to the No. 5 spot on Sunday, surpassing the Storm, and are currently just half a game behind the fourth-seeded Phoenix Mercury.
