282 boats are set to compete for $7.2 million in prize money at this year's White Marlin Open.

The 2025 White Marlin Open is just one day away, as things are set to kick off early Monday morning. And with boats and anglers preparing for the upcoming seven days of fishing, they now know just how many boats will be on the water, and the prize money that will be up for grabs.

The White Marlin Open announced Sunday evening that 282 boats are set to compete in this year's White Marlin Open, and they will be competing for $7.2 million in prize money. Last year's White Marlin Open saw 318 boats competing for about $8.5 million.

Scenes from Day 2 of the 51st White Marlin Open, a very busy day at the scales that saw qualifying white and blue marlins, a qualifying catch from Michael Jordan's boat and much more. People packed the Harbor Island Marina to see the weigh-ins.

While the White Marlin Open typically takes place over the course of five days in August, for the second year in a row the tournament has extended the tournament due to potential weather conditions. This year's tournament was originally set to take place from Aug. 4-8, but the tournament announced on Saturday evening that they would add Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10 as two additional fishing days due to concerns over offshore weather conditions.

Boats will now be able to fish for a maximum of three out of the tournament's seven days, as the 282 boats compete to reel in the biggest catches and leave with the prize money that comes with those catches.
