Sophie Cunningham's Caitlin Clark Jab Goes Viral on Friday

The post blew up online.

Caitlin Clark is without a doubt the most important player on the Indiana Fever roster. The way that the team has been up-and-down amid her multiple injury spells this season is a testament to how much the Fever need their cornerstone superstar on the floor.

At the same time, however, Clark’s goofy behavior off the court sometimes gets on the nerves of her Fever teammates. Just ask Sophie Cunningham.

Sophie Cunningham Roasts Caitlin Clark

Cunningham came across a post on social media on Friday that featured her, Clark and teammate Lexie Hull. In Cunningham’s mind, the post perfectly depicted the type of relationship this trio has, which prompted her to share the photo with a message of confirmation.

The photo showed a boy playing a horn instrument (labeled Caitlin) next to a visibly annoyed girl covering her ears (labeled Lexie/Sophie).

“I’ve never seen anything more true,” Cunningham wrote on X.

Cunninham's hilarious jab has now gone viral on X. As of writing, it has amassed over 600,000 views, close to 500 reposts and over 300 comments.

Cunningham previously revealed that Hull is her best friend on the team. The 28-year-old veteran has also been vocal about Clark’s fun-loving antics whenever the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year is not terrorizing the league on the basketball court.

Clark has sat out six straight games for the Fever with a groin injury, which means the 23-year-old has spent a lot of time off the court. Based on Cunningham’s revelation here, it appears that Clark has had a tendency to annoy her Fever teammates of late.

Be that as it may, Cunningham’s jab was made in jest, and it’s all good among the Fever teammates.

When Will Caitlin Clark Be Back?

On a more serious note, there is currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding Clark’s injury. Given how this is a re-aggravated groin issue she’s dealing with, the Fever have been overly cautious with bringing her back.

This same groin problem cost her four games during its first occurrence, which, in hindsight, may not have been enough time to let the injury heal completely.

The last thing the Fever want right now is a third occurrence of the groin strain, which will almost certainly lead to an even more extended spell on the sidelines, and, potentially, long-term concerns for the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year.

At this point, it would not be surprising if Clark sits out a few more games from here on out as the team patiently waits for her to get back to 100%.
