“Clear desire to join Chelsea” – Fabrizio Romano debunks injury claims and makes story clear

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to debunk some injury claims and make a story clear over the weekend.

It was claimed that Xavi Simons missed RB Leipzig’s friendly yesterday due to having an injury, but we all know the real reason. Why are they even trying to lie about it!?

Romano has taken to X to clear the story up and set it right. Simons wasn’t injured at all, he wants to join Chelsea and he is actively pushing for that to happen now.

Romano even reported this before the game happened, he was saying that Simons was going to miss it due to pushing his move to Chelsea through! So it’s so obvious what has happened here.

The official word from his club was that he was injured and out of the game for that reason, but even the German media were questioning that as a clear lie!

The two clubs still need to agree a fee and it looks like that might still take a bit of negotiating. But Simons is now largely expected to become a Chelsea player this window and on the player side it looks like there are no problems there and he is actively pushing to join the Blues.

Simons has even been sending messages to his club asking them to let him go.

Chelsea have been tough

Chelsea clearly know that they have the full player buy in and this makes them strong in negotiations. The player wants to join, so they know that Leipzig basically have little choice but to agree a fee that is closer to what Chelsea want to pay than what they would like to receive for him.

Chelsea are doing well here, let’s hope it pays off!
