Lakers predicted to go after career average 21.5 points per game star if available

The Los Angeles Lakers have had some good fortune in free agency. If there is a Bradley Beal buyout, they could be in line to benefit even more from some good luck.

LeBron e Luka Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are doing their best to build something great. When the Luka Doncic trade gifted them a generational superstar, they decided to switch from building around LeBron James to building around Luka. The Lakers are looking to get as much talent as they can find through trades or free agency signings.

Recent NBA free agency rumors are saying that a new star player could become available.

Reports indicate that the Suns could be buying Beal out of his current contract this offseason. This would allow him to enter the free agency pool and instantly become the best available player.

John Gambadoro of Phoenix sports radio reported that the Lakers are one of the teams interested in signing Beal if he became a free agent.

Last season Beal averaged 17 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game shooting nearly 50% from the field and 38.6% from three. He has averaged 21.5 points per game throughout his career.

If available, the Lakers need to pursue Beal on the free agent market. Adding another scoring threat to their roster would take a ton of offensive pressure off of Luka and LeBron.

Earlier in his career Beal was also known as a 3-and-D star. If he could tap back into that skillset on a contending Lakers team, he’d become an even better fit.

The Lakers don’t have a ton of money to throw around in free agency, but if Beal is bought out, he may be willing to sign for less to go to a contender. The Lakers already benefited from that with their DeAndre Ayton signing.
