Piastri ahead of Norris as McLaren rule Hungary GP practice

Oscar Piastri led the way from team-mate Lando Norris as McLaren also ruled the final practice session for the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday. Piastri clocked 1 minute 14.

Oscar Piastri led the way from team-mate Lando Norris as McLaren also ruled the final practice session for the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday.

Piastri clocked 1 minute 14.916 seconds on the Hungaroring to pip Norris by .032 of a second.

It was another dominant showing from the best team of the year, after Norris had topped the first two sessions ahead of championship leader Piastri on Friday.

The two are also expected to dominate qualifying later on Saturday.

Charles Leclerc was almost four-tenth off the pace in third, and his Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton in fourth trailed by .768.

World champion Maxc Verstappen had to settle for 12th as he continues to struggle in his Red Bull.

Piastri is 16 points ahead of Norris in the championship which takes a four-week break after Sunday's race.
