She has been a "problem."
Fever Player on Temporary Leave Draws 'Problem' Statement From FIBA AmeriCup originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever will be without Caitlin Clark yet again on Saturday when they return to action in a home game against the Los Angeles Sparks. This is after the 23-year-old guard was unable to recover from her lingering groin injury in time, thereby forcing her to miss her fifth consecutive game.
Apart from Clark, Indiana will also be missing the services of veteran center-forward Damiris Dantas for Saturday's game as the 32-year-old continues to be away from the team.
Dantas' contract with the Fever has been suspended as she represents Brazil in the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Santiago, Chile. The Sparks game will be Dantas' fourth missed contest amid her international obligations.
Dantas and Brazil were in action on Friday in the quarterfinal of the tournament against Mexico. They made easy work of their opponents, 84-61, en route to booking their spot in the semifinal.
Dantas went off again on Friday, registering 24 points on 10-of-23 shooting, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and two triples in 34 minutes of action.
Her strong performance drew a reaction from FIBA AmeriCup on social media.
"Damiris is a PROBLEM," FIBA AmeriCup declared on Instagram.

It wasn't just Dantas who dominated against Mexico, though. Chicago Sky center Kamilla Cardoso was actually the driving force for Brazil in this one with a monster 22-point, 16-rebound double-double.
Brazil remains undefeated in the tournament after five games played, and is now just two wins away from winning the championship. They will return to the court on Saturday for their semifinal matchup against Argentina.
