Brentford Women will play Charlton Athletic Under-21s in their opening pre-season match ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The fixture will take place on Sunday 3 August at Bedfont, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
There are also interim updates to the coaching setup, as well as an early look at the players expected to feature across the next two matches.
In the absence of a confirmed head coach and finalised backroom staff for now, Kristian Wooster will oversee the opening two pre-season fixtures.
Wooster, currently a football development coordinator with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, also coaches casually within the club’s academy setup and brings a strong familiarity with the Brentford football environment.
The first-team squad is not finalised, with further announcements - including confirmed signings and staff appointments - expected in the coming weeks. However, a number of new signings and returning players will feature on Sunday in order to support the team’s early preparations and provide continuity during this transitional period.
New signings
The following players are expected to be involved against Charlton as part of their integration into the squad.
These players will be introduced to the fans in due course.
Esme Alaneme | Winger or full-back
Liberty Morrice-Bartlett | Defender/midfielder
Kasha Petit | Midfielder
Tiffany Balfour | Forward/midfielder
Khyri McKenzie | Midfielder
Maï Louvrier | Midfielder
Cloe O’Brien | Striker
Renai McCrea | Forward/defender
Asees Sangha | Forward/defender
Ilana Harris-Walters | Striker
Scarlett Novakovic | Goalkeeper
These players are expected to feature in Sunday’s match, alongside several returning members of last season’s squad, as preparations continue toward establishing a final first-team group.
Brentford Women will also play Wycombe on Sunday 10 August, again at Bedfont, with a 3pm kick-off. Supporters are encouraged to attend, support and follow the team during this exciting transitional period for the team.
As highlighted previously by Lois Fidler, Brentford Women are currently undergoing a longer-term period of growth and refinement across the pathway.
“It’s not about short-term fixes,” Fidler said in a recent interview.
“It’s about building something that lasts. We want to recruit better, develop players in a more informed way, and strengthen the environment they operate in. That includes supporting staff, aligning teams, and making sure every player – no matter where they are in the pathway – is valued and challenged in the right way.”
Further updates, including the announcement of the 2025/26 first-team squad and coaching staff, will be provided in due course.
