Olivier Rioux turned heads in a recent viral video
Fans Can't Get Enough of Florida's 7-Foot-9 Center in Latest MrBeast Video originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Florida Gators big man Olivier Rioux became an internet sensation long before he arrived on campus in Gainesville. However, since joining head coach Todd Golden and the Gators, the 7-foot-9 center has caught the eye of many around the world.
While he didn't step foot on the floor last season in his freshman year with Florida's national championship-winning squad, Rioux has continued to wow fans of the Gators and beyond.
The Guinness World Record holder for the world's tallest teenager, Rioux's meteoric rise to stardom has taken him to many avenues on the internet. His most recent appearance came in a collaboration with the most subscribed YouTuber on the planet, MrBeast.
Jimmy Donaldson, who goes by the alias of MrBeast online, has over 417 million subscribers on YouTube, which is greater than 100 million more than the second-highest subscribed channel. On Instagram, the social media influencer from Greenville, North Carolina, has over 76 million followers.
In his latest Instagram Reel, MrBeast joined forces with Rioux to see if his friends could touch a basketball while the former IMG Academy star held it above his head. One of the participants was able to knock the ball out of Rioux's hand while two others got on each other's shoulders to reach it.
The size of Rioux, in addition to his eight-foot wingspan, caused a frenzy in the comments of the video.
"He’s taller than the hoop! 🤣🤣🤣," one content creator said.
"This man didn’t just win genetics… he downloaded the expansion pack 😭📏," commented another.
"What size shoe bro wear? 😂" questioned a third.
Rioux stood next to MrBeast for the introduction of the video and towered over him. Although the YouTuber stands at 6-foot-5, his height pales in comparison to that of the Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada, native.
"He makes me look so short 😂" MrBeast captioned the video.
"Future NBA player," one fan said.
"Go Gators!!!!" a Florida student commented.
While the imposing Rioux has made a name for himself off the court, he is hoping to get some playing time next season, as the Gators look to win back-to-back national titles for the second time in program history.
