Pat Murphy was asked about his in-game snacking regimen during an in-game interview, and ... wait, what does he keep in his back pocket?
During the AppleTV+ broadcast of the Aug. 1 battle between the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals, Brewers manager Pat Murphy joined sideline reporter Tricia Whitaker for a third-inning interview.
Whitaker told Murphy, "Rumor has it that during the game you like to partake in some snacks."
It's uncertain if anyone could have been prepared for what came next.
At first, Murphy played coy saying, "I'm like anyone else in the world; I don't need to be singled out." But then he produced a pancake from his back pocket.
Yes, a pocket pancake. Which he then shared with Whitaker.
"They're wonderful; you want some?" Murphy asked, as a nation watched in shock when Whitaker did not say "absolutely not."
"Pizza, bagels, what else do you keep in your pocket?" she asked as she finished her interview.
"Whatever fits," Murphy deadpanned.
Murphy was in a good mood, no doubt, given that the Brewers had just taken a 6-1 lead with a five-run outburst in the third.
