The 2025 college football season will be Billy Napier's fourth as the head coach of the Florida Gators.

It will also be his most important since he's had an up-and-down tenure since taking the job before the 2022 season. He lost a combined 14 games over his first two seasons before leading the Gators to an 8-5 record last year.

Napier has compiled a 19-19 record as head coach, and as expected, Gators fans want a lot more. It's potentially part of the reason why On3's Ari Wasserman has Napier in the top spot for college football head coaches on the hot seat.

Napier has to win this year, even though the Gators will be running the gauntlet with their schedule. They have a couple of easy games to start with before they play some of the top projected teams in the country, including the LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Texas Longhorns, and Georgia Bulldogs.

As long as quarterback DJ Lagway is healthy, they'll have a chance to pull off some upsets. He's coming off a solid 2024 season, finishing with 1,915 yards through the air, 12 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also added 50 carries for 101 yards and no touchdowns on the ground.

The Gators will start the 2025 season at home against the Long Island Sharks on August 30. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET
