Recap
1st Inning
Jazzy Francik and Jacksonville’s Reese Wells both held the opponent scoreless in the first inning. Francik only surrendered a walk, but kept the Dolphins from crossing home.
2nd Inning
After Francik had another clean inning in the 2nd, her offense took over. Starting with a double from Ashtyn Danley,Marin Heller drove her in off of a triple.
A walk and wild pitch scored Heller, and Wells added a baserunner on a one out walk. Following the walk, JU went to the bullpen for Jacy Harrelson. For her first batter, Isa Torres doubled to bring in two runs.
5th Inning
After coming on in relief in the 4th inning, Danley returned to the circle. She gave up back to back, two out walks, before a single scored one of the baserunners. Danley was able to limit the damage after a strikeout.
The Seminoles offense also faced a new pitcher, Karson Johnson, in the bottom of the inning. Anna Hinde walked, followed by a one out single by Heller. With two runners on base, Bella Ruggiero tacked on the second triple of the game to drive in two runners.
Up 6-1, Makenna Sturgis singled to easily score Ruggiero.
7th Inning
After relieving in the 6th, Makenna Reid took on the Dolphins in the top of the 7th, and final, inning. After a lead off strikeout, Reid gave up a single. She added a double, putting two runners in scoring position, but ended the game with her third strikeout of the inning.
