The Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun have faced off three times this season. In their first meeting, the Sun narrowly defeated the Fever 85-83 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Their next matchup, however, took a more physical turn.

During that game, Sun guard Jacy Sheldon reached in on Fever star Caitlin Clark and inadvertently scratched her face, sparking a scuffle between the teams that ended with Clark being shoved to the floor.

Later in the final seconds, with the Fever leading by 17, Sheldon drove on a fast break against Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, who delivered a hard foul, seemingly in response to Sheldon’s earlier contact with Clark. The Fever went on to win that game 88-71. In the third meeting, Indiana recorded an 85-77 win on July 15.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Cunningham revealed the amount she was fined for the infamous scuffle that took place on June 17.

During the first episode of "Show Me Something," a podcast co-hosted by Cunningham and high school best friend-turned-reality star West Wilson, the Indiana guard broke down her thought process leading up to the physical play.

"I don’t even have a leash," Cunningham said, noting that her physicality isn’t given much leeway during games. "The girl stole the ball, and I was running back, and I was like, 'We're up. I don't need to foul.' And I was like, 'Just let her go.' And I was like, 'All right.' Like, 'Who cares?' Last-second intrusive thoughts. I was like, '[expletive] it.'"

Cunningham then revealed she was fined $900 after the game, in which she was ejected following the late foul. She is averaging 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game so far this season, shooting an efficient 40% from beyond the arc for the Fever.
