Brutal beat for Minnesota.
It's not good news for the Minnesota Lynx.
They'll be without one of their wing players for the rest of the season.
Karlie Samuelson has been ruled out the rest of the way due to a left foot injury that will require surgery, the Lynx announced in a release. She sustained the injury in the June 29 game against Connecticut.
The 30-year old Samuelson had appeared in 16 games so far this season.
She was averaged 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, a decrease from the last two years when she was close to a full-time starter with the Sparks and Mystics.

Awful way for the season to end for someone who should have been able to make a big impact on the Lynx. pic.twitter.com/t1Go6VltSL
Samuelson likely knew coming to Minnesota that her role would decrease, but it was a chance for her to contend for a title.
The Lynx knew that, with Samuelson, they had a player who could step into a bigger role in a pinch and perform.
Now, though, they won't have her.
The former Stanford star hopefully heals up in time to improve her game in the offseason and be ready to go for next year, but it's a bad break for everyone right now.
