Arne Slot will finally correct mistake he made at Liverpool as major transfer news emerges

There's no hiding from the fact that Liverpool have been a fraction of their former selves this season.

Last term, the Anfield outfit were one of the Premier League's best teams and now, they're not even in the Champions League spots.

A lot of this is down to the sheer number of injuries that the team have faced but some of their defeats have been due to the players themselves.

Many changes occurred at L4 during the summer transfer window which meant that several members of the Reds' first-team squad were moved on.

Initially, this was seen as a good thing due to the quality of players that Slot and Richard Hughes were bringing in.

However, due to Liverpool's poor form, it's clear that too many changes were made and now, it's up to them both to try and rectify the mistakes that were made.

That is, especially if Liverpool are wanting to challenge for the Premier League and the Champions League in the 2026-27 campaign.

Liverpool are 'considering' signing Jarell Quansah in the summer transfer window

With the number of players Liverpool signed, it was clear that some sacrifices were going to be made.

However, nobody thought that the 2024-25 season was going to be Jarell Quansah's last in a Liverpool shirt.

The Englishman became an integral part of Slot's plans towards the end of the campaign and his ability to play at right-back was much appreciated.

Despite this, he was sold to Bayer Leverkusen and now, due to his impressive form, the Anfield outfit want him back.

That is, according to an update from Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger who took to his personal X account to share a fresh update on the Englishman's current situation.

"Liverpool FC are considering re-signing Jarell Quansah," he wrote.

"Liverpool secured an €80m buy-back clause when he joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen for €35m last summer.

"The clause is valid until the end of May. The centre back has impressed in the Bundesliga."

Liverpool re-signing Jarell Quansah makes complete sense

When Quansah was first sold, most fans expected Giovanni Leoni to be the player to replace him.

And, while he managed to do that for one Carabao Cup tie, since then, he's been out injured which has left Liverpool with just three senior centre-backs to choose from.

This is why fans were left baffled by Quansah's sale, especially since he could be used as a right-back if needed.

The fact that he's homegrown is another massive selling point about the Englishman as it means that Liverpool could have a bigger squad to use throughout the rest of the season.

As Berger mentioned, Slot and Hughes included a buy-back clause in the deal and, even though it's more than double what they initially sold him for, he's going to be worth every penny.

His transitional period would be minimal as he's spent most of his career with the Anfield outfit which, in this day and age, is everything that the club could hope for.

Liverpool also know exactly what they're getting with the Englishman which is more than they can say about some of their summer signings and will be essential, especially if they want to compete for all four of England's major competitions next term.
