Report – Nigeria Star Could Still Join Atalanta Preseason Despite Inter Milan Links

Inter Milan target Ademola Lookman could still join up with Atalanta in their preseason tour despite his transfer saga.

This according to the Corriere di Bergamo, via FCInterNews.

This is likely to be the decisive day in Inter Milan’s pursuit of Ademola Lookman.

The Nerazzurri made their second offer for the Nigerian international earlier this week. They upped their bid from €40 million to €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons.

Atalanta have not yet given Inter a formal response. But they will give the Nerazzurri their answer today.

In the meantime, Lookman is not part of Atalanta’s squad for their friendly match against RB Leipzig today.

Naturally, this has only further fuelled speculation that a move to Inter may be imminent for the Nigerian.

However, as the Corriere di Bergamo note, the reason for Lookman’s absence is actually injury. The 27-year-old is still recovering from a calf problem.

Therefore, there would still be a possibility of Lookman joining up with the Atalanta squad in anticipation of their next friendly, against Koln.
