Former Reds pitcher Taylor Rogers joins third National League Central team in two days

Taylor Rogers won't pitch for the Pirates but is staying in the Reds' division.

The Cincinnati Reds traded relief pitcher Taylor Rogers along with shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura to the Pittsburgh Pirates as part of the Ke'Bryan Hayes deal.

It turns out Rogers won't pitch for the Pirates but is staying in the National League Central.

Rogers is being traded, according to multiple reports, to the Chicago Cubs ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

The Reds acquired Rogers from the San Francisco Giants in January for minor-leaguer Braxton Roxby.

In 40 relief appearances for the Reds this season, Rogers posted a 2.45 ERA, with 34 strikeouts and 19 walks in 33 innings.
