Brewers, Cubs clash in tight NL Central race this weekend
Brewers Fans Not Pleased with New Rankings originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs head into the final series of July tied with identical 62-43 records. Both teams sit atop the National League Central, with the Cincinnati Reds trailing 6.5 games behind. It's shaping up to be one of the most exciting division races of the season.
The Brewers have won seven of their last ten, while the Cubs are 6-4 over that same span. Still, MLB's latest Power Rankings favored the Windy City. According to a panel of MLB.com experts, the Cubs claimed the top spot in the rankings. The Brewers landed just outside the top five at No. 6.
That didn't sit well with Brewers fans.

Milwaukee supporters took to social media to vent their frustration:
This fan started it out: "Brewers at 6? @grok is that a fair ranking?"
More came in: "Delete this mlb."
"The cubs…really tho," said this fan.
More love for Milwaukee: "Brewers should be top 5."
Another Brewers fan chimed in: "The Brewers hate is real."
Even Cubs fans agreed: "As a Cubs fan, there’s definitely some disrespect to the Brewers here."
Toronto Blue Jays fans also voiced confusion, with their team holding a solid lead in the AL East and showing strong form. Yet, the Blue Jays were ranked behind the Cubs. Rounding out the top five were the Mets, Dodgers and Phillies.
The Cubs and Brewers have already met twice this season. They split a two-game set at Wrigley Field in mid-June, and the Cubs took two of three in Milwaukee back in early May. After this three-game series, the two teams will meet one final time in Chicago for a five-game set from August 18-21.
Heading into the series, Chicago leads the majors in scoring at 5.27 runs per game and averages 8.8 hits. Milwaukee, meanwhile, is scoring 4.6 runs per game and allowing just 3.9 runs, which ranks fourth in all of MLB.
