Washington has more to give up.
The Washington Nationals' pitching exodus is underway.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Nats traded away two pitchers to the Angels. There are almost certainly still more to go.
The first two gone: Luis Garcia and Andrew Chafin.
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Nats are getting back left-handed pitcher Jake Eder in the deal.
Garcia has made 10 appearances this season for the Nationals and has a 0.90 ERA. He has seven strikeouts in 10.0 innings.
Chafin has thrown 20 innings across 26 appearances with a 2.70 ERA. He has struck out 18 batters in that time.

Both are on the plus side of 30, meaning the Angels won't get long-term utility out of them. Instead, it's a short-term approach from the club from Anaheim, as usual.
The Nationals get back Eder in the deal, a 26-year old southpaw out of Vanderbilt. He has appeared in nine MLB games across the past two seasons with a 4.87 ERA.
This is likely just the beginning for Washington.
They're expected to be shopping at least Kyle Finnegan, the hard-throwing righty reliever, and Michael Soroka, the versatile righty who can start or come out of the bullpen.
Both of those guys should have a bit more value in trades than Garcia or Chafin did. The Nats may get real prospects, rather than just a borderline big leaguer, in a deal when they send away Finnegan and Soroka.
There's another day-plus to move those guys, but the Nationals are underway. They're looking toward next year, and Garcia and Chafin are out the door.
