Cincinnati returns a lot of goal-scoring talent for the 2025 high school soccer season. Here are the Enquirer's preseason boys and girls favorites.
With the high school soccer season just a couple of weeks away, here is a look at the top returning forwards/goal-scorers in Greater Cincinnati high school soccer. Polls are included at the bottom of the list. You can vote for your favorites until 4 p.m. Monday.

Who are the top boys soccer forwards in Greater Cincinnati?
Drew Adams, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy
The junior had eight goals and five assists for the Eagles, who went 14-4 overall. He was first-team all-league and first-team all-district in Division IV. He is one of three key scorers returning for the Eagles, including senior Royce McKenzie (11 goals) and junior Mark Szalay (7 goals). Adams had 14 goals and six assists as a freshman.
Ben Angelica, Wilmington
The junior helped the Hurricane finish 11-5-2 and second place in the Southern Buckeye-American. He was first-team all-league and all-district in Division III after leading the league in scoring with 20 goals and seven assists. He had 12 goals and 13 assists his freshman season and enters his junior year with 32 goals.
Trevor Bolte, Dixie Heights
The senior plays forward and midfielder for the Colonels, helping them to a 10-8-1 record and a district championship. He had eight goals and five assists. The three-year varsity starter was first-team All-NKAC, all-region, all-city and second-team all-state.
Ryan Boyd, Lakota West
The senior scored 19 goals with seven assists for the Firebirds, who were 13-3-4 and second place in the Greater Miami Conference. He was first-team all-league, all-district and an all-state selection. He had 12 goals and 10 assists as a junior and enters his senior season with 34 career goals.
Joe Harmon, La Salle
The senior was first-team all-league and all-district in Division III after helping the Lancers finish with a 6-9-5 record. He led the team with 12 goals, scoring nearly 40 percent of the team’s markers.
Maddox Pemberton, Cooper
The senior helped the Jaguars to a 10-8-2 record with 16 goals and 11 assists. He was first-team All-Northern Kentucky and first-team all-state.
Max Runge, Bishop Brossart
The senior led the Mustangs to a 14-6-4 record, 37th District championship and 10th Region runner-up. He had 14 goals and five assists, and was first-team All-10th Region.
Andrew Schneider, Roger Bacon
The senior was the Spartans’ top scorer last season with 10 goals and seven assists. He is part of a potent 1-2 punch with senior Alex Ervin, who had eight goals and six assists. Schneider was first-team all-league in the Miami Valley Conference-Scarlet and first-team all-district in Division IV.
Jake Sheridan, Cincinnati Christian
The senior had 13 goals and three assists for the Cougars, who were 12-5-1 and won the Miami Valley Conference-Gray. He was first-team all-league and all-district in Division V.
Hayden Tobias, Middletown
The junior is one of the top returning scorers in the GMC with 13 goals and 13 assists last season.

Who are the top girls soccer forwards in Greater Cincinnati?
Ava Bergman, Anderson
The junior had eight goals and 13 assists to help the Raptors to an 18-1 record and the Division II regional semifinals. She was first-team all-league in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference and an all-district honoree in Division II.
Kendall Hanlon, Western Brown
The junior had 30 goals and nine assists, helping the Broncos to a 12-1-4 record and second place in the Southern Buckeye-American. She was an all-state selection in Division III as well as all-league and all-district. She had 24 goals in her freshman season.
Nohea Harper, Sycamore
The sophomore had 11 goals for the Aviators last season and was first-team all-district. She is a highly ranked recruit in the Class of 2028.
Alexis Howard, Simon Kenton
The senior forward had 19 goals and 10 assists, helping the Pioneers to a 15-5-4 record, 32nd District championship and runner-up in the Eighth Region Tournament. She was honorable mention all-state and first-team All-Eighth Region.
Cam Lorentz, Summit Country Day
The junior was a key part of Summit’s state championship team last year, posting 13 goals and 11 assists after posting six goals, seven assists for the 2023 title team. She also plays forward and was first-team all-league in the Miami Valley Conference-Scarlet and an all-district selection.
Maria Mayer, East Central
The senior posted 32 goals and 21 assists to lead the Trojans to an 18-3-1 record. The goals are a school record and she was a first-team all-district selection.
Meagyn Riffle, West Clermont
The senior posted 13 goals and 13 assists for the Wolves, who were 10-8-1 and district finalists, losing to state champ Springboro. She enters her senior season with 33 goals and 25 assists and was first-team all-league in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. She was first-team all-district, and an all-state honoree, the second player in team history to earn that honor.
Rachel Shewmaker, Bishop Brossart
The senior was a first-team all-state selection in Kentucky after leading the Mustangs with 26 goals and 14 assists. She enters her senior season with 51 career goals.
Ryan Weghorn, Campbell County
The senior had 15 goals and six assists, helping the Camels to a 15-9-3 record and the 10th Region championship. She was second-team all-state selection in Kentucky.
Addy Zawaly, Mariemont
The junior had 19 goals and 10 assists for the Warriors, who shared the Cincinnati League title with Madeira and went 15-2-2 overall. She is part of a deep returning offense for the Warriors, with senior all-state pick Miller Spreen and junior forward Alyssa Dewey (14 goals, 17 assists). Zawaly was a USA Soccer Coaches All-American and also all-district and all-state in Division IV.
