Real Madrid enter the game against Valencia with Kylian Mbappe as the only heavyweight attacker available in what comes as an unprecedented situation for the club.

After all, the Frenchman will be without Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo Goes and Jude Bellingham on the night, all of whom are set to miss the game for varied reasons.

Situations like this, needless to say, make one question why Real Madrid let go of Endrick who has enjoyed a stunning start to life in the Ligue 1 since his departure on loan last month.

Regrets loom internally

As relayed in a recent report by Diario AS, Real Madrid believed back then that a departure for Endrick would be the best solution for all parties involved given the player’s lack of minutes under Xabi Alonso.

Talks with Lyon, thus, were hastened and the player was allowed to leave on loan after seeking Alonso’s approval. Notably, however, Real Madrid themselves parted ways with the coach just days later.

Now, the Spanish outlet confirms that there is a feeling of internal regret for letting the player go, especially when they knew well of his potential and could have given him more prominence.

The youngster will indeed return to Madrid next season and the decision is clear as daylight. However, losing out on his services for the remainder of the ongoing campaign is being seen as a result of disastrous planning and management.

So far, the teenage star has scored five goals and provided two assists for his new club since joining them. Last night, however, saw the brakes put on him as he was shown a red card, and he will look to return stronger than before after serving his suspension.
