Bournemouth have triggered their buy option in the loan contract of Milan winger Alex Jimenez, according to the latest reports from Italy.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio broke the news this evening, confirming that Milan will receive €19 million plus €5 million in bonuses for the Spaniard’s services.

Life in Italy did not go to plan for Jimenez, who struggled to integrate fully into the Rossoneri squad.

However, things have been much better for him in England, where he has become a first team regular for Premier League side Bournemouth, playing in a number of different roles on the flank.

Jimenez sale a huge boost for Milan

With a potential landfall of €24 million heading into the Rossoneri coffers, the club will have greater ability to invest in the summer.

Milan were linked with a number of transfer targets over the winter window, and were close to securing Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Alex Jimenez joins Bournemouth from Milan on September 1, 2025.

However, the Frenchman failed Milan’s notoriously rigorous medical examinations and the Rossoneri abandoned the deal.

Instead, with a hefty payday from the South of England, the club can prepare to sign the proper reinforcements in the summer.
