Since signing with Manchester United, Bryan Mbeumo has kept a low profile, but this Tuesday he finally broke his silence in an interview with The Telegraph. The Cameroonian forward opened up about his transfer.

Bryan Mbeumo officially became a Manchester United player last week. The Red Devils splashed out €75 million to secure the services of the former Brentford star. In recent hours, Mbeumo spoke at length to the Telegraph.

It was a chance for him to discuss his decision and reflect on a wild transfer window. "No, I always trusted those around me and I was convinced it would happen (that I would sign for Manchester United). Transfer windows can be long or short. You just have to be patient and try to keep a positive attitude. I was obviously on holiday, so I just wanted to rest mentally and physically, and if it was meant to happen, great. Of course, I spoke to other managers to learn about their projects, but Manchester United’s plan was perfect for me. I think I love challenges. There’s a fantastic project at Manchester and I wanted to be part of it. Manchester is a huge club. I think it’s an excellent opportunity." he said.

Now a United player, Mbeumo will be able to count on the support of his fellow Cameroonian, André Onana. "I spoke to him and, yes, he wanted me to come. It’s always nice to have someone like him by my side." the forward revealed.

Mbeumo says he’s ready to give everything in his new colors: "Obviously, I mainly played as a winger at Brentford, but I don’t have a specific position where I feel most comfortable. At Brentford, I also played as a number 10 and even as a number 9. I can play in all those roles. I think nowadays in football you have to adapt and be able to play in positions other than the one you consider your best. But I think it’s really good to gain experience. Whatever position the coach gives me, I’ll play it. My first goal is to be ready for the start of the season, so I’ll keep working hard. I always want to be better than I was yesterday. I’m very demanding of myself and always try to do my best. I also don’t like to set limits for myself."
