Brock Schott underwent surgery during his time with Miami, Cignetti said during a television interview this week.
Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti spoke about the Hoosiers’ signing class of 2026 during an appearance on Big Ten Network on Wednesday, providing a few other updates in the process.
Among them was the status of Brock Schott, a transfer from Miami that Indiana landed in the transfer portal. Schott underwent labrum surgery for a hip concern during his time with the Hurricanes, Cignetti said, and won’t be cleared for action until after spring football.
“Brock Schott from Miami has a labrum surgery on his hip while he was at Miami,” Cignetti said.
Indiana has excelled at recruiting and developing tight ends under position coach Grant Cain during Cignetti’s first two seasons in Bloomington. Zach Horton was key to the Hoosiers’ offense in 2024 and Riley Nowakowski became a versatile piece of the national championship team in 2025. It’ll be interesting to see how the position comes together ahead of the 2026 season.
