Sunseri, Indiana’s quarterbacks coach during the 2024 season before departing for UCLA, will return to the program.
He’s back (reportedly.)
Tino Sunseri, coming off of a brief stint as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCLA, is set to return to Indiana as the Hoosiers’ quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator ahead of the 2026 season, according to several reports. Sunseri previously worked in that role on head coach Curt Cignetti’s first staff in 2024.
Sunseri’s full-time coaching career began under Cignetti at James Madison, where the former worked as the Dukes’ quarterbacks coach starting in 2021. He, like several other JMU staff members, followed Cignetti to Bloomington ahead of the 2024 season. Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke completed 69.4% of his passing attempts for 3,042 yards, 29 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 2024 under Sunseri’s guidance.
Sunseri was replaced in that role by Chandler Whitmer, a former offensive assistant in the NFL, after departing for UCLA last offseason. With Whitmer heading back to the NFL as the quarterbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sunseri is set to return to Bloomington.
