Real Madrid defender Fran García had received interest from Bournemouth in the last few days of the transfer window and was keen on joining the Premier League club until Los Blancos rejected those offers and blocked the move, according to reports from Cadena COPE, MARCA or The Athletic.

Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola had coached García when the two of them were at Rayo Vallecano, and the Spanish left-back saw this potential move as an opportunity to play more minutes and get an increased role elsewhere.

Fran García is now unsettled about Real Madrid’s decision to block the move and actually asked to train by himself for a few days, according The Athletic’s initial report. The Spanish defender doesn’t understand why Real Madrid rejected a brief loan deal when he’s behind both Álvaro Carreras and Eduardo Camavinga in the rotation for the left-back spot. García has only played 63 minutes since Arbeloa took over.
