Derby County reinforce their left-back position by signing Derry Murkin until 2029.
Derby County have signed left-back Derry Murkin from Dutch Eredivisie side Utrecht on a contract until 2029.
The 26-year-old, who can also play as a winger, was born in England but his family moved to Netherlands when he was four and he has only played on the Continent.
Murkin made the breakthrough at Volendam, where he helped the youth team gain promotion from the fourth division in 2018-19 and was named talent of the season in 2020-21.
He spent two seasons with Schalke 04 in the second division of the Bundesliga before returning to the Netherlands with Utrecht last summer. He has featured in the Europa League for the Dutch outfit.
Derby moved to sign Murkin after losing loanee Owen Beck, who has returned to Liverpool after requiring hamstring surgery.
