The Steelers add another former Packers coach to their staff.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are seemingly hiring a new assistant coach every hour, which is why you should all follow along with our assistant coach tracker to keep up with every hire.
The most recent hire comes from the Cignetti family, as Mike McCarthy is adding Frank Cignetti Jr. to his staff, per Gerry Dulac.
“Mike McCarthy is adding former Pitt and IUP coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. to his offensive staff, per sources,” Dulac reports. “Cignetti was McCarthy’s QB coach in Green Bay in 2018.”
Cignetti is the brother of Indiana University head coach Curt Cignetti. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and served as IUP’s offensive coordinator in 2025. He’s held several jobs around the NFL, including the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator in 2015. He was the New York Giants’ quarterbacks coach from 2016-17, and was the OC and QBs coach at Pitt from 2022-23.
