Dana White was back in Las Vegas on Saturday, watching the second UFC event of the year from home rather than travelling to Sydney, Australia.
He had a good reason to stay local, with Zuffa Boxing set for its second card on Sunday night. While catching up on both events, he also managed to take in Shakur Stevenson’s one-sided win over Teofimo Lopez.
White shared some photos and videos from his viewing party but didn’t comment much during the broadcast itself. He did address a few topics during his time at Meta Apex later in the evening.
UFC 325 sets new records as Dana White watches from afar
Even though White did not make the long trip to Sydney, he stayed up to date on everything happening at UFC 325. He saw Alexander Volkanovski pick up his eighth world title fight win, matching a record in the process.
Speaking on a stream with Nina Drama, White mentioned that the event had once again set a new gate record. With 18,102 fans packing Qudos Bank Arena, the show brought in $10.1 million US dollars, which is just under $14.6 million Australian.
“The event last night was f—ing rocking. We broke the record, we re-broke our record last night for gate,” the American businessman said.
At the post-fight press conference, White seemed more interested in laughing about Jarrell Miller’s hairpiece being punched off at Madison Square Garden than analysing UFC 325 in detail. Still, he did give a short response when asked about it: “The UFC card was awesome, loved it.”
