The Metro Classic wrapped up Saturday evening in Galloway, New Jersey, and the nation's top-ranked team picked up three more wins in the event to remain undefeated in the 2025-26 season.
SPIRE Academy [Geneva, OH] headed into the competition ranked No. 1 in The Sporting News Boys Basketball Top 25, and they didn't do anything to harm their standing in the Garden State classic. The Ohio powerhouse won all three games by double digits, including a 59-43 win in the penultimate game Saturday evening over the Linden [NJ] Tigers.
They'll retain their position at the top of the rankings when the next list is released on Tuesday, and one of the in-state teams competing in the three-day event did its best to stake a claim in SN's Top 50. The Blair Academy [Blairstown, NJ] Bucs followed their 96-76 rout of the Top 50 St. Thomas More [Oakdale, CT] Chancellors on Friday night with another lopsided result in a 98-56 thrashing of Crestwood Prep of Ontario, Canada.
