Rouse Raiders football coach Joshua Mann, who started the program in 2008, is stepping down in order to take over at Belton High School. He was 91-90-1 at Rouse.
Joshua Mann, who started the football program at Rouse High in 2008, has stepped away to become head football coach at Belton.
"I've been blessed for the last 18 years to be at one place and serve the Raider nation," Mann told the American-Statesman Friday. "I was ready for an opportunity and change and it had to be the right spot."
Mann compiled a 91-90-1 record at Rouse and took the Raiders to the state playoffs 10 times. His best run was a trip to the Class 4A state semifinals in 2012. He followed that with a berth in the regional finals the following year. Rouse grew rapidly and became a Class 6A school in 2014.

Mann reflected on his career on Friday, recalling that his first team competed with an "outlaw schedule" with just freshmen and sophomores. There were growing pains at the Raiders were a combined 2-17-1 in his first two seasons. As campus coordinator during his 18 years at Rouse, he was proud to be part of a school that had three Top 25 finishes in the Lone Star Cup.
During his time at Rouse, Mann was recognized as Central Texas coach of the year in 2012 by the American-Statesman and Class 5A coach of the year by Texas Football magazine.
Before his arrival at Rouse, Mann served as defensive coordinator at Cedar Park High.
At Belton, Mann takes over a team that has gone 31-25 the last five seasons. The Tigers were 5-6 this past season.
He is a graduate of Angelo State University and earned four football letters with the Rams.
