Boys basketball roundup: Eastern, Sexton, East Lansing record league wins

EASTERN 49, FOWLERVILLE 42

FOWLERVILLE — Zaiden Harris-Anderson led the Quakers with a game-high 16 points as Eastern picked up the road CAAC Red over Fowlerville. Ian Curtis tacked on 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Eastern (7-7, 4-3). Sam Shrader finished with a team-best 13 points, Tyler Ray scored nine points and Tyler Jonas chipped in seven points for the Gladiators (4-11, 0-7).

EAST LANSING 71, EVERETT 42

EAST LANSING — Behind KJ Torbert's 22 points, the Trojans remained unbeaten with a CAAC Blue victory over Everett. Tyree Anthony had eight points, Dequarius Stewart had six points and seven rebounds and Kellen Lott added five assists and four steals for East Lansing (16-0, 8-0).

SEXTON 60, OLIVET 54

Keyshawn Summerville had 22 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals for the J-Dubbs in their CAAC White victory over Olivet. Mario Murray and Kivon Brown each contributed 11 points for Sexton.

DeWITT 63, OKEMOS 28

OKEMOS — Landon Kurncz and Nate Mullen each picked up a team-high 12 points as the Panthers cruised to a CAAC Blue victory over Okemos (4-11, 2-6). Brendan Mensing hauled in nine rebounds and dished out five assists for DeWitt (7-9, 3-6).

ALMA 66, ESSEXVILLE GARBER 54

ALMA — The Panthers avenged an early season loss by picking up a TVC Red victory over Essexville Garber. Koby Shunk had 26 points, six rebounds and two steals and Penn Seeley had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds for Alma (10-6, 4-3).

MANCHESTER 61, LESLIE 57

MANCHESTER — Roman DeRose led all scorers with 26 points for the Blackhawks in a close Cascades East defeat to Manchester (13-3, 9-3). Joel Cranmore tacked on 16 points for Leslie (12-4, 10-2).
