The Houston Astros general manager has given a convincing injury report on starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti.
The Houston Astros have been struggling lately, getting swept in a four-game series by the Athletics, a team that's in last place in the AL West division.
However, there's no need to panic for fans, as the Astros still hold a four-game lead over the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers for the division lead.
Houston's been on the struggle bus as of late, and injuries have been the leading problem as July comes to a close this week.
A large list of players throughout the Astros' pitching staff and batting lineup are on the team's injured list currently, including key players such as shortstop Jeremy Pena, outfielder Yordan Alvarez, as well as pitchers Christian Javier, Lance McCullers Jr., and Spencer Arrighetti.
Some encouraging news has struck for right-handed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti as the league starts a new week on Monday.
Arrighetti hasn't seen the big league mound for the Astros since early April after getting hit by a line drive in practice, resulting in a thumb fracture in his throwing hand.
On Sunday, Astros general manager Dana Brown said that Arrighetti is in line to make a return to the pitching rotation soon.
"Spencer Arrighetti will make another rehab start, and if all goes well, is expected to re-join the big league club after that," SportsTalk 790 reported over the weekend.
Arrighetti, 25, is still trying to get the hang of the big leagues in his second season. In 16 appearances in his career, all of them being in Houston, he has an 8-14 record, 4.60 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and has struck out 179 batters in 154.2 innings pitched.
