Women's national team coach Christian Wück has renewed his contract by two-and-a-half years until August 2029, the German Football Federation (DFB) said on Friday.

The renewal beyond the end of 2026 covers next year's World Cup in Brazil, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and the home Euros in 2029. World Cup qualifying starts in March.

Wück, 52, won the men's U17 World Cup and then took over the women's team after the Paris 2024 Olympics where they won the bronze medal. He led the team to the Euro 2025 semi-finals and the Nations League final, losing against world champions Spain on both occasions.

"It is a great privilege to continue in this special role and to have the opportunity to accompany the team to up to three major tournaments," Wück said.

DFB president Bernd Neuendorf said: "Christian Wück and his coaching team have not only initiated an important change, but have also courageously placed their faith in young talent.

"Under his leadership, a team has grown that impresses with its confident, dynamic and inspiring play," he said.
