Liam Rosenior made some big claims in his press conference today ahead of our match against West Ham tomorrow.
His team are freshly back from a big European win, but it’s important they keep their eye on the ball as the Premier League becomes our focus again. That’s what the coach wanted made very clear to his squad, via the media this afternoon.

“Tomorrow [vs West Ham] is the biggest game of the season. I will find out so much. If you want to be a consistent winning team, these are the games you have to step forward,” Rosenior said.
His logic is that, while the game itself is just a standard Premier League fixture, it’s one that comes after an intense and important midweek game. What Rosenior – and all of us – want to see, is a team that comes out and plays with the same commitment and intensity for this sort of game as a Champions League game.
That’s the sort of mentality you need if you want to win the league. So as Rosenior says, we will find out a lot tomorrow. It’s certainly the right message to send to a side which has gone for far too long without competing for the league title. Let’s see how they respond.
In other news…
Fabrizio Romano claimed last night that a deal was close for Axel Disasi to join West Ham on loan, with just a couple of days left in the window to get the deal done.
Chelsea’s win over Napoli on Wednesday night wasn’t perfect – as others have pointed out, Liam Rosenior’s gamble with his starting team didn’t work out. But what was important was how it ended, and that was very well indeed.
