Gasperini concerned about Dybala: “He’s injured again.”

Roma drew 1-1 against Panathinaikos and avoided the Europa League playoffs. Jan Ziolkowski’s goal secured direct qualification to the round of 16, which will be played in March.

Gasperini, however, may lose Paulo Dybala for his upcoming matches.

The Argentine was on the bench today, but missed the match due to renewed knee problems.

After the final whistle, the coach gave a press conference: “We’ll know tomorrow morning. I’m not so confident about Udine, but I hope he recovers very soon because he’s crucial for us and for Malen. We need to be patient until tomorrow.”

Gasperini then spoke about the new arrivals and other injured players: “Malen is definitely a good option, then we’ll see why we can replace three players. It was really difficult like this, now we have some time to recover some players.”

“Hermoso will return to the group tomorrow, El Shaarawy is close to recovering. The only one out is Koné, who’s a concern, and we’ll see Dybala. They’re important players.”

No problems for Matias Soulé, who was replaced by Evan Ndicka at halftime in Athens. Gasperini, visibly smiling, joked about the Argentine talent: “No injuries, at least today.”
