Former Wildcat Reed Sheppard headed back to All-Star Weekend

The event will take place during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles on Friday, February 13. This will mark Sheppard's second straight appearance after participating last year as a rookie.

LOS ANGELES, Ca. (FOX 56) — Former Wildcat and Kentucky native, Reed Sheppard, has been selected to the Castrol Rising Stars event, the NBA announced on Monday.

The event will take place during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles on Friday, February 13. This will mark Sheppard’s second straight appearance after participating last year as a rookie.

Sheppard has appeared in all 43 games so far this season, averaging 13.1 points, 3.1 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.42 steals. The London native is on track to become the first player in NBA history to have averaged at least 13.0 ppg. 3,0 apg, 1.0 spg, and 2.5 three pointers made in a season while playing fewer than 26 minutes.

A group of 10 NBA rookies, 11 NBA sophomore and seven NBA G League players will compete in a four-team mini tournament. You can watch Sheppard on Friday, Feb. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBC.
