L.A. Rams News: Great year, but a dissapoitning end

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/26/26

The Los Angeles Rams came up short of the Super Bowl when they lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game by four points, but I don’t think this year was a failure. Is it a bummer way to end? Sure, it is.

This team had the potential to beat anyone in the league, we saw that, but they also lost leads, saw their offense go ghost at certain times, their defense also would vanish sometimes, and their special teams was inconsistent most of the year.

When you look at all the flaws of this team, it’s actually somewhat amazing they got as far as they did.

That being said, this team was literally the best when they were at their best, but on Sunday, they wen’t at their best a few too many times, and now they’ll be at home while the Seahawks try to take on the New England Patriots.

I’ll be rooting for Seattle.

So, we’ve got time to reflect on this season, but be proud of the boys, be proud of Sean McVay and what’s he’s done since coming to L.A. Matthew Stafford is a Hall of Fame quarterback.

Yes, this loss is a bummer, I can’t lie about that, but there were so many things about this team that made them winners, and it’s alright to hang our hat on that too.

Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times, and we’ll still be around, it’s gonna take more than a Rams loss to get rid of us!

Rams-Seahawks on Championship Sunday: What We Learned from Seattle’s 31-27 win (nfl.com)

“Stafford, Rams offense come up shy. MVP candidate Matthew Stafford and the Rams moved the ball against the NFL’s No. 1 defense, finding splash plays. Stafford led a Rams offense that gobbled up 479 total yards and 26 first downs. The QB was magnificent against a great defense, darting lasers and heaving bombs. Stafford finished 22-of-35 passing for 374 yards with three touchdowns. Whether under pressure or not, the signal-caller found his guys. Stafford was particularly potent going downfield. He finished 7 of 11 for 226 yards and a TD on passes of 20-plus air-yards. For all the yards generated, L.A. couldn’t finish enough drives in pay dirt to outduel its division rival. The Rams settled for two early field goals. Then, with a chance to take a late lead, Stafford was denied the end zone, turning it over on downs. With the defense unable to make a quick stop, L.A.’s offense couldn’t complete the road comeback.“

The Rams had a Super Bowl team, except for one glaring problem that never went away (nytimes)

“A fumbled punt turned quickly into an opponent’s touchdown. A vintage effort by an old friend. Incompletions on third and fourth down, the game clock winding away. And on the other side of that turnover on downs, a Seattle Seahawks offense, with a 31-27 lead, that picked away at the L.A. defense until the Rams’ final, fleeting chance at Super Bowl LX came down to an all-but-hopeless 25 seconds.“

Random Ramsdom Fandom:

“I’ve been a Rams’ fan my whole life. First game I remember watching as a kid was the Super Bowl against the Steelers in 80. There have been a ton of lean years with terrible squads to root for as a Rams’ fan, so it’s been great to have one of the top teams in the league for the past decade.

I feel the game completely changed when the Rams could not get a first down before the half, kicking it back to Sea, and having them drive down for the TD. Then coming out of halftime and getting the stop, but turning it over on the horrendous ST’s muff, turned all the momentum back to Sea. 14 points within 5 plays is very tough to overcome. Winning teams win the end and beginning of halves.

Stafford and the O willed the team back into the game and kept them there until the final minute. Picking on the D is too easy so I’ll just leave it there.“ -CalRamsFan

“Hey all, I’ve been lurking since the start of this season, and enjoying my time reading these articles and hearing you all chop it up. This loss stings, and going to school tommorrow to a bunch of niner fans is gonna suck. But this season really was special. I feel spoiled that this is how im starting out my rams fan career. Let’s go draft a corner and hire a good special teams guy and win it all next year🤞“ -RenoRam108
