Barcelona have had a busy January transfer window so far, but unlike most teams, the club have mostly had to work with deals involving the youth team.
The January transfer window was already headlined by Pedro Fernandez’s decision to leave the club, with PSG ready to snap him up. This was coupled with Mamadou Mbacke Fall’s departure, while Como are reportedly finalising a deal to sign Andres Cuenca.
Alvaro Cortes is another player linked with a potential exit, in addition to the talented La Masia duo, Dani Rodriguez and Guille Fernandez.
Barcelona close the door on an exit
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have effectively closed the door on both Guille and Dani, leaving this winter.
Despite the massive restructuring currently underway at Barça Atletic, which includes letting go of players like Mbacke and Cuenca who are deemed to have no first-team future, the club draw the line at these two talents.

The reasoning is purely sporting. Barça Atletic’s primary objective this season is promotion to the Primera RFEF, and the administration believes they cannot afford to lose key figures during such a critical campaign.
Guille Fernandez’s situation has been delicate. The 17-year-old has reportedly been discouraged and unhappy due to limited minutes under coach Juliano Belletti, a frustrating drop after being involved with the first-team squad last season.
However, the club have held talks with him, assuring him that he remains a vital part of the squad’s promotion push.
The stance is even firmer regarding Dani Rodriguez. A regular starter for Belletti, the 20-year-old has received offers from European clubs.
However, Barcelona are unwilling to entertain his exit, especially given the current injury crisis affecting the team’s forward line. Both players have been informed of the situation: despite the exodus around them, they are staying to fight for promotion.
