Barcelona submit official bid for the renewal of 20-goal attacker – here are the terms

Barcelona have lately gotten serious in their bid to keep hold of Fermin Lopez, who has become a subject of interest for many Premier League clubs.

It appears these clubs have been left impressed by Fermin’s performances at Barcelona, with the playmaker, who is expected to start against Real Oviedo on Sunday, racking up 20 goal involvements this season.

In light of the interest in Fermin, Barcelona are keen on renewing the contract of the Spanish international, whose current deal at Camp Nou expires in 2029.

Barcelona submit official renewal offer for Fermin

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have submitted an official bid for the renewal of Fermin Lopez.

The Catalans are ready to renew Fermin’s deal by two years, meaning the contract extension could see the player commit to Barça until 2031.

In their fresh bid, Barcelona have offered the Spanish international a lucrative 50% salary increase, in addition to variables.

This comes after reports that Barcelona had held a key meeting for the renewal of the La Masia starlet, who is fast-becoming one of the club’s most productive attackers.

It has been reported in the past that Fermin, for his part, is not keen on leaving Barcelona and wants to remain in Catalunya.

This is despite the fact that clubs like Chelsea have been linked with a move for the young attacking midfielder, who is capable of operating in midfield and out wide.

It remains to be seen whether or not Fermin agrees to the terms offered by Barcelona. The report suggests that the Catalans want to seal the deal by the beginning of next week.

The club are keen on finalising the renewal before the start of the presidential election, although there is doubt whether Fermin will be able to respond quickly as his family needs to study the offer carefully. The coming days could prove to be crucial.
