HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) – Sharon outlasted multiple Hickory runs during a 61-59 victory during boys high school basketball action on Wednesday night.
After the Tigers led by 12 in the 4th quarter, the Hornets erased the lead in the final two minutes to force overtime. But Sharon was able to outduel Hickory in the extra frame to secure the win.
Sharon was led by Jeremiah Nixon’s team-high 20 points, followed by Heath Miller with 15 and Cyleim Smith with another 11.
For the Hornets, Kyle Slevin led all scorers with 21 points, along with Ahston Boal adding 14 and Trevor Borowicz with 13.
With the loss, Hickory drops to 10-3 on the season. The Hornets will host Slipper Rock on Friday, Jan. 23.
Sharon improves to 11-4 with the win and will travel to Farrell on Friday, Jan. 23.
