Boston would need a lot to trade Duran.
The Boston Red Sox are viewed as having too many outfielders.
That has pushed star Jarren Duran into trade rumors, and Fox's Ken Rosenthal reported during Saturday night's broadcast that the San Diego Padres have made at least one official offer for Duran, that Boston turned down.
In the next few days, it seems likely that the rumors will persist, whether it really makes a lot of sense for the Red Sox to trade Duran or not.
He shared his thoughts at length after Saturday's win, giving reporters an honest look at his feelings:
“If it happens, it happens, but, you know, it's just all rumors for now, so I'm just gonna keep having fun with my boys... I love this team. I mean, I feel like, personally, I feel like we do it all. Like, we can hit homers, we can run, we're athletic, we're young. And the best part about us being so young is, like, if we lose the hard game, like, we're laughing and joking, like, flushing it, and we're ready to move on to the next game.”

Duran is one of the most talented players in baseball, a power-speed combo threat that any team would be lucky to have.
Maybe he gets pushed out by a positional crunch in Boston.
But he's right that the Red Sox seem to have a good vibe going. Maybe there's a run to be made. Maybe it'd be better to keep Duran after all.
