It’s the first time the big name pundit has had a show since the sacking of Enzo Maresca, and he took a moment to cast his eye over the situation at Stamford Bridge. Carragher has been an outspoken critic of this ownership and their model, and he didn’t miss a chance here to take aim at them:
“The idea that you think you’re going to buy a team of all young players, and they’re going to grow,” Carragher said.
“The idea will be, we’ll grow over the next three or four years, and then what a great team we have. I don’t think football’s like that.”
Well, we’ve all been saying the same thing since the moment the idea of this new project became clear. The question is how long until those steering the ship realise it too.
Carragher did at least have some positive things to say about Liam Rosenior, praising the man to man marking that his team had shown in the game against Brentford at the weekend, and claiming it could lead to something positive in the future.

In other news…
Wesley Fofana came on against Brentford and helped his team keep a clean sheet. They’ve not lost a game this season with 11 men when the Frenchman has started – but the problem is he can only play half our games at best.
Chelsea’s subs against Brentford were important in regaining control of the game – we’re just not sure why Rosenior isn’t yet starting with Andrey Santos as part of the double pivot.
