Since Friday, the Iowa State Cyclones had seven sports compete in Ames, across Big 12 Conference cities and New Hampshire.
Iowa State’s track and field teams took to Lied Recreation Center for the 2026 Bill Bergan Classic. The Cyclones recorded 10 top 10 performances on Friday. Rachel Joseph setting a school record in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:18.50.
Other colleges with athletes running, jumping and throwing around Lied Rec on Friday include: Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Drake and Iowa Central CC.
Men’s basketball fell at 79-70 Cincinnati, Milan Momcilovic scored 34 points. As a team, the Cyclones connected on nine 3-point baskets with Momcilovic connecting on eight of them.
The women’s basketball team fell 86-58 to Oklahoma State on Sunday. Audi Crooks and Jada Williams each tallied 15 points for the Cyclones.
Iowa State tennis competed at the Jayhawk Invitational in Lawrence, Kansas. Against Kansas State on day one of the invitational, the Cyclones picked up four singles and two doubles victories against the Wildcats. Against Kansas on day two, Iowa State tallied two doubles victories and a trio of singles victories. Memphis was the final opponent for Iowa State at the Jayhawk Invitational. Ashlee Narker and Julia Camblor picked up a doubles victory, and four Cyclones (Pretorius, Camblor, Vargas and Dale) picked up singles victories over the Tigers.
The swimming and diving team finished fifth at the Big 12 East Showdown held at CRWC Natatorium located in Houston. Kate Mitchell placed fifth in platform diving with a score of 254.45. Cape Town, South Africa, native 200-yard individual medley Emma Kuhn placed second in the 200-yard individual medley. Milan, Italy, native Carlotta Gazzola placed fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle.
Cyclone gymnastics finished third at a meet hosted by New Hampshire on Sunday, the other two teams in attendance were Air Force and the University of Bridgeport. Iowa State tallied a 192.900, New Hampshire finished 195.275, Air Force with 193.950 and Bridgeport with 191.800. Sophomore Haylee Hardin placed first in both vault (9.9) and floor (9.9) and Frederique Sgarbossa placed third on beam (9.8) and a second in the all-around (39.1)
Iowa State wrestling crowned one champion, Connor Euton, and placed 10 on the podium at the Cyclone Open Sunday. Brackets are published on FloWrestling.
Cyclones in the Divisional Round
Of the six Cyclones in the NFL Divisional Round – Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers, Eyioma Uwazurike of the Denver Broncos, J.R. Singleton of the Seattle Seahawks and the trio on the Houston Texans in Jaylin Noel, Jayden Higgins and Xavier Hutchinson – Uwazurike and Singleton (a member of the Seahawks’ practice squad) advanced to the Championship games of the AFC and NFC, respectively.
Uwazurike tallied three tackles in Denver’s 33-30 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills.

No. 9 Iowa State men’s basketball takes on UCF, a team receiving votes in the latest AP Poll, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Iowa State women’s basketball (receiving votes in the latest AP Poll) hosts Cincinnati at 6:30 p.m.
The track and field teams take to Lied Rec on Friday with the Cyclone Open. At 7 p.m., also on Friday, Iowa State takes on Northern Colorado in wrestling.
Iowa State women’s basketball hosts Arizona on Saturday at 3 p.m.
