Seahawks tackle Charles Cross ‘day-to-day’ ahead of NFC Championship game

Cross’ status against the Rams remains uncertain.

Zach Charbonnet’s season-ending knee injury was a huge bummer for the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the NFC Championship game. However, that was not the only injury news for Seattle.

Head coach Mike Macdonald also called starting left tackle Charles Cross “day-to-day” with a foot injury. Cross started the Divisional Game against the San Francisco 49ers but was held out the rest of the game “out of caution” according to Macdonald. He went on to say that “we will need to work through that, day-to-day is the best way to put it.” regarding Cross’ foot.

If Cross is unable to go against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game, it will either be Josh Jones (who himself was inactive last week against the 49ers because of a knee injury) or undrafted rookie, Amari Kight, who finished the game for Cross. Jones was the starting left tackle in the Seahawks thrilling victory over the Rams back in December. Kight also impressed in his game action last week, including helping spring Kenneth Walker III on his second touchdown of the night.

Regardless, Seattle will surely want to be at full strength ahead of their third matchup against Sean McVay and the Rams. That would need to include the newly paid franchise left tackle, Charles Cross.
