MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — The girls Hanson Classic wrapped up Saturday night at the Corn Palace with Mahpíya Lúta topped Lennox 66-56 in a 1-vs.-2 matchup in Class ‘A’.
The Crusaders scored the final nine points of the game to take their largest lead of the game. Four players reached double figures as Mahpíya Lúta improved to 10-0.
“I don’t think a statement win unless it’s state so or on the way to state,” Mahpíya Lúta head coach Matt Rama said. “So, it’s a good win for the middle of the season. We can’t act like… it’s just a good win. You know what I mean. Like you still have to battle.”
The Crusaders are set to host Spearfish on Thursday.
