Manuel Neuer talks on Bayern Munich’s pattern of falling behind and winning

FC Bayern mentality for the win.

Bayern Munich begins the Rückrunde, a game away at Leipzig. Though the team could not up their previous 6-0 scoreline from the Hinrunde, they managed a respectable 5-1 win and brought Jamal Musiala back into the fray.

RB Leipzig have a formidable squad and historically, games at their turf have always been difficult. That was the case tonight as well, as the home side thoroughly outclassed Bayern in the first half. Youth and senior players alike put up a good fight, and this resulted in Cardoso scoring at the 20th.

Bayern, now in a deficit, still struggled all through the first 45. However, the second half proved crucial as several key players like Michael Olise came on to win the game 5-1.

Speaking on the pattern of falling behind and then making a comeback, captain Manuel Neuer speaks on the role of Bayern’s mentality. “We’ve often gone behind in the score this season but were always able to come back,” he said, per @iMiaSanMia.

“We were determined at half time to turn the game around. We played a much better second half, we ran 6 kilometers more and made it 5-1. That speaks for our mentality. It was insane,” he declared.

While it is certainly formidable, fans would rather watch the team go home with a clean sheet.
