NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (WKBN) – The Kennedy Catholic girls basketball team edged Wilmington 57-56 in an overtime thriller on Thursday night.
Eternity Moss scored the go-ahead basket, which proved to be the eventual game-winner for the Golden Eagles, with 15 seconds left in OT.
Wilmington’s Alyssa Flick had a shot to win it, but her shot was of the mark as the final buzzer sounded.
Bella Magestro led all scorers with 28 points and 17 rebounds in the win for Kennedy Catholic.
Tori Harvey tallied 17 points and 11 boards, while Meyah Jpseph added 6 points for the Golden Eagles.
Alyssa Flick led Wilmington with 14 points. Avery Harland and Maya Jeckavitch tallied 12 points apiece in the setback.
With the win, Kennedy Catholic improves to 12-1 overall on the season. The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday at home against Berkshire.
Wilmington suffers its first loss of the season, dropping to 12-1 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Lakeview on Jan. 22.
