Chelsea want to spend £34m on Jorrel Hato, but Ajax want a higher fee according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have been busy this summer and have already made three signings in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea are working on a deal for Xavi Simons, whilst they are also in the market for a left sided defender to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Ajax want more than £34m for Jorrel Hato
The Blues are desperate for back-up to Marc Cucurella at left back, and have identified 19-year-old Ajax star Hato as the player they want.
Hato has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and the teenager was left out of the Ajax squad for their pre-season game against Celtic earlier this week.

The Dutch international can play both at left back and centre back, which makes him a great fit for Maresca’s system, and Chelsea are said to have had a bid rejected.
A deal is advancing with Chelsea and Ajax currently in negotiations over the final fee, and Romano has provided an update.
“Chelsea wants to spend £34m on Hato, but Ajax wants more,” he told his YouTube channel.
“The negotiation is ongoing; the player wants to go and told Ajax the Premier League is his dream.

Despite his age Hato has already played over 100 times for Ajax, which is quite something and he’s also a full Dutch international.
Xavi Simons deal close
Hato isn’t the only player Chelsea are working on a deal for, and they are also in negotiations for Hato’s international team-mate Simons.
Simons wants to join Chelsea and has made it clear his preference is the Premier League, with RB Leipzig said to want around £60m.
Personal terms are thought to almost be agreed, and Simons can play both on the left and as a number ten, giving Enzo Maresca another really good option for multiple positions in attack.
